This 7-minute video presents the Development of Intelligence Through Art (DIA) Program, a program where children spend time pondering visual art, and expressing their thoughts, feelings, and interpretations. It is presented in the format of a discussion between Daniel Goleman, a psychologist who promotes social and emotional intelligence, Claudia Madrazo, the creator of DIA, and Peter Senge, a systems scientist. The use of art in social and emotional learning, specifically through the DIA program, allows for a non-judgmental collective creation of interpretations for pieces of art. In DIA, the teacher guides a dialogue and exploration of a piece alongside the children.
